We spent a sunset with this fun and beautiful family modeling one of our very own Space Coast artisan's creations - Florida Kid Co swaddles! Meet Teak and his family! All About our Florida Grown Family
When we all met up for Teak and his family's big debut, you would think that AT LEAST one of four little ones might be shy or maybe even a bit cranky, but nope! Not here! It was one of the most striking things about this family. When asked about how uniquely joyful the family was and how great all the kiddos were together, we learned that Mom and Dad (also frequently called Kim and Justin), have created this super blended family. The littles' ages range from 12 (almost 13) to just 7 months old. Kim said, "Despite the age gaps, our kids are the best of friends and always have so much fun together." Which is basically a parent's dream in either blended or not blended families! That your littles are happy and get along amazingly together! It really made for the best evening.
“Teak is a little water baby!”
It isn't often that we meet Florida grown families. I usually find that so many Florida residents have relocated to this state from all over the US, especially up North (because frankly, who wants to be THAT cold for SO long in the North?) Both Kim and Justin were born at Holmes Regional in Melbourne and raised on the Space Coast. Justin grew up in Melbourne Beach and Kim grew up in West Melbourne. Both also graduated from Melbourne High School.
When Space Coast Baby and Florida Kid Co were looking for models for the launch of our online lifestyle magazine, we never expected to meet baby Teak, a 9 month old who already models for his own instagram account and several baby clothing companies!
Teak is a little water baby! He loves being outdoors and especially loves being in the water. He spends the majority of his days lounging in the sun at the beach, boating in the Indian River, splashing around in the pool with his big sisters and brother, and fishing with his daddy. How much more perfect could it get for our first model?! Teak’s Instagram (@TeakTraderJones) started because his mom and dad began posting photos of him on their social media accounts and various companies contacted them to feature him on their social media pages and websites. He loves to smile for the camera and especially loves being the center of attention. For newbies to the Space Coast, we thought it would be perfect for a family always found at the beach to give us some recommendations on their favorite beach locations. Kim said, "Our all-time favorite beach is definitely Sebastian Inlet. Growing up, Justin was a professional surfer and he traveled the world for many years doing what he loved and continued to surf professionally until the birth of his daughter, Ella. Justin was crowned winner of the Quiksilver “King of the Peak” at Sebastian Inlet in 2004. If we’re not at the Inlet, you can usually find us at a beach in Melbourne Beach."
What do Kim and Justin do when they aren't at the beach with their littles?
Kim is a third-generation attorney at Trader Legal in Downtown Melbourne, specializing in the areas of Family Law, Probate, Estate Planning, and Guardianship. www.TraderLegal.com Trader Legal was originally established in 1952 by Kim’s grandfather and both her and her father work there currently.
Justin owns his own woodworking business, specializing in custom kitchens, wall units, and built-ins. JJonesWoodwork@Gmail.com. Hence the name “Teak,” the strongest waterproof wood there is, just like their strong, perfect baby boy.
“What do you think of the Florida Kid Co swaddles?”
I asked Kim what she thought about the swaddles we used in their photoshoot (please take note that swaddles can clearly also be used as SUPERHERO CAPES!). So many of the prints match the family's interests and since they can be found at the beach so often, I thought they'd make the perfect beach accessory for them.
